Abstract

Ebola outbreak became a matter of concern for the World Health Organization as a result of which data about the past and the present outbreaks were made available to the research community. The central concern of this paper is to demonstrate the Ebola epidemic model by dealing with the problem of fractional order SEIR (Susceptible-Exposed-Infected-Removed). The basic reproduction number, a threshold parameter for invasion of a disease into the susceptible population, is obtained for the proposed fractional order SEIR Ebola epidemic by the next generation matrix. The conditions to be satisfied for the stability of the disease-free equilibrium point are discussed using Routh-Hurwitz criterion. The derived theoretical results are validated through numerical simulations.
