Synthesis, Dielectric and Electrical Characterization of SnO2 Nano-particle Prepared by Co-precipitation Method
Main Article Content
Abstract
Nano-crystalline SnO2 particles have been synthesized by coprecipitation method using a simple starting solution consisting of SnCl2.2H2O and NH4OH as complexing and ethanol as polymerization agents. The structural properties of the prepared tin oxide nano-powders annealed at different temperatures (2000C–7000C) have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD).The XRD pattern shows tetragonal phase in the nano powder with lattice parameter a=4.7383A0 c= 3.1948 A0 .The Size of the prepared material is estimated to be ≈23 nm crystals. Impedance spectroscopy measurements taken in the temperature range between RT and
150 0C show a clear dependence of the measured impedance on the particle size. The impedance analysis reveals grain resistance decreasing with temperature as expected for a semi conducting material.
